Welcome to the Computer Source Remote Assistant (CSRA) instruction page. Help is just a few clicks away! Here you will learn about how to use the CSRA and what it can do. We will go step by step to keep things simple!

Step 1: Download

Though pretty simple to do, this is actually the hardest part of the entire process.
Before you can use the CSRA, you must first download a copy of it to your computer.

Download now!

If you are using Internet Explorer, you’ll see something like this:

File Download - Security Warning

Click Save to save the file to your computer. You should save it somewhere that is easy to find, such as your Desktop. You may also just click Run if you do not wish to save a copy of the CSRA for future use. If so, skip past the next paragraph and head right to the “Open File - Security Warning” screen, which is what you will see once the download is completed.

Step 2: Open

Once the download is finished (it should be quick), locate the file on your system by navigating to the saved location. You should see something like this:

File icon

Double-click on this file to launch the CSRA. If you used Internet Explorer, you may see a warning like this:

Opening file security warning

The CSRA file is completely safe and virus free, so you can continue by clicking Run without worry. If you plan on saving this file for possible future use, uncheck the box labeled “Always ask before opening this file”.

Once opened, the CSRA will greet you with the license agreement.

License Agreement

This is mainly a formality to appease our insurance company. As stated, Computer Source understands that you are granting them full access to your system. We will treat your computer with the utmost respect and mindful attention it deserves. Press Accept to continue or Decline to stop.

Step 3: Connect

After accepting the license agreement, you’ll be greeted with the main screen.

Computer Source Remote Assistant

As it says, simply click Get Help! to connect to us. From this point out, the process is usually automated and in our hands. You should see the log window below open up, which provides you with the status of the connection.

CSRA Log Window

NOTE: If you have a software firewall, you’ll need to grant the CSRA application full access to the Internet, as well as server privileges, when prompted. Most programs will simply give you a popup with options, such as “Always allow” or “Allow access”. If you need help with this, please feel free to ask.

Once the connection is created and secured, the technician who is assisting you will have full control of your mouse and keyboard. You’ll be able to watch everything the technician does during the session on your screen. If you have any questions during the session, please don’t hesitate to ask. After the session has been completed, the technician will disconnect and you’ll be greeted again by the main screen. Simply click Exit to close.

Thank you for your business and trust! Please feel free to contact us with questions.
